Go baby go!

Last week I found out that my baby was in OP position and I got lots of nice reassuring advice from the ladies in this community. I did what the midwife told me to do, which was to avoid sitting in a leaned-back position, to walk a lot, and to hang my belly over the ground whenever possible. She said swimming was great, but I didn't get a chance: mostly I just hung out on my hands and knees on the birth ball a bit, sat like a sumo wrestler with my belly hanging out in front of me and hoped he'd move. I didn't think it would work because he's big and packed in there- I'm 39 weeks now. But it did! Baby has his back to my belly now and he's rolled his butt out of OP position! Hooray! Thought I'd share since there are a few more of us freaking out about that now.

Yeah- I was totally convinced that none of it worked (in my pessimistic way) but it looks like it did- they said to keep tryoing to sleep on the left side, too, so I'm still doing that. Good luck to you!

How did you know baby was in OP position? I keep wondering about that and I've tried looking over the http://www.spinningbabies.com website but I still can't quite tell. I haven't been reading the belly mapping instructions closely enough, perhaps.

You know, I'm sure that website is great, but it made my head hurt! I just knew he was in the wrong position because the midwife felt my belly and told me he was!

YAY! See, we told ya it wasn't something to worry about. I'm now 39w3d and my little monkey is still preferring to hang out on one side or the other. So I constantly have a bum on one side and feet sticking out the other side of my tummy! But no worries... he'll figure out how to get out of there eventually ;)

You guys were so great- totally stopped me from freaking out, and now I feel like even if he does turn around again it'll be okay- thank GOD for nice calm people like you on this board who have already been through this!

Sometimes it's good to be an "old pro" at this... other times, I think, "geez, at 30, I'm getting too dang old for this!" lol... btw - love your icon. I giggle every time I see it. Is that your kitty?

Hee hee- I'm 38, and you're totally the old pro! I like your icon too- it looks like it's laughing at my cat hat! It's not my cat, though, it's from this crazy Japanese place where you can buy cat hats- there are lots of different ones: check it out! catprin!

What a hilarious website! The frog hat rocks my socks big time! ... now if I only I had a cat to dress in it... That poor white kitty... he always looks seriously annoyed... hubby took that picture of me at a New Years party and it's one of my fave pics because I love to laugh.
